Dual Citizen Brewing Company is pleased to announce Friends of the Mississippi River (FMR) as it’s May 2026 Dual Purpose Partner. Through the brewery’s Dual Purpose program, Dual Citizen highlights and supports nonprofit organizations that a creating meaningful impact across the Twin Cities. FMR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1993. FMR engages people to protect, restore and enhance the Mississippi River and its watershed in the Twin Cities region. FMR envisions a river that is recognized and celebrated for its intrinsic values. Imagine with us a river where the water is clear and clean and safe to swim in, where fish and wildlife are healthy and abundant, and where scenic bluffs and cultural treasures are protected. This is a river where residents and visitors can escape the rush of daily life to find solitude in a hidden backwater, wonder while paddling past towering bluffs, and connection to what sustains us. As part of the May partnership, Dual Citizen will host FMR several times throughout the month! They will take over our FREE weekly Meat Raffle on May 13th with a special host, prizes and fun facts and tidbits about the work they do. Stay up to date on both our websites (fmr.org and dcbc.com for more info and other activations as well). The month will culminate on Saturday May 30th for a backyard blowout Live Concert activation featuring Molly Maher and headlined by Tina Schlieske! You will not want to miss this.
As with each month’s partnership, Dual Citizen will be matching up to $10k raised throughout the month! Double your impact!
This collaboration represents the very heart of our Dual-Purpose program—using our platform to elevate organizations that make a lasting difference in our community.Throughout the month of May, there will be information in the taproom and online at fmr.org and dcbc.com on ways to connect and contribute to FMR, to help support its mission-driven initiatives.

Dual Purpose is the community outreach vehicle for Dual Citizen Brewing Co., created to turn a neighborhood brewery into a catalyst for meaningful change. Deeply rooted on both sides of the Mississippi River, we aim to provide accessible space, essential resources, and long-term partnerships to local nonprofit organizations, working to strengthen our shared community. Through intentional partnerships, and with substantial annual grants and annual community investment, we help local organizations grow, connect, and thrive. We open the taproom and gathering areas as a hub to these partners and community initiatives to remove the barriers to program delivery, fundraising, and community organizing.
