Dual Citizen is currently hiring for: SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Job Summary:
Most breweries want to sell more beer. We want to do that too — but we're also trying to build something bigger. Dual Citizen Brewing Company is a self-distributing craft brewery in Saint Paul, and everything we do is rooted in one idea: Beer for Good. Great beer that brings people together, and a business that actively gives back to the community around it.
That's not a tagline. It shows up in the product and on the shelf. Our 12-pack format, now rolling out across select Twin Cities liquor stores, donates $1 from every 12-pack sold to Second Harvest Heartland — one of the region's largest food banks. Through our Dual Purpose program, we also partner with a local nonprofit every month, match community fundraising up to $10,000, and open our taproom as a hub for organizing, events, and connection. We're not trying to be the biggest brewery in Minnesota. We're building one of the most community-centered brands in the state.
We're looking for a sales rep who gets it. Someone with real beer industry experience who can build relationships, grow a territory, and show up with the same energy in a dive bar as they do in a chain buyer's office. If you've been waiting to work somewhere that actually stands for something, read on.
What You'll Do:
Own and grow a territory of on- and off-premise accounts across the east Twin Cities metro
- Open new accounts and deepen existing relationships with bars, restaurants, liquor stores, and retail buyers
- Handle the full account relationship: order writing, merchandising, tap handle and draft line management, staff education, promotions, and tastings
- Actively pitch and represent our Beer For Good 12-pack program to retail customers
- Sell a portfolio that includes craft beer and hemp-derived THC beverages — comfort with emerging beverage categories is a plus
- Represent Dual Citizen at events, festivals, community activations, and Dual Purpose partner programming
- Work closely with production, operations, and taproom teams — self-distribution means you have a direct line to the people making decisions
- Bring ideas on programming, partnerships, and promotions — we want input, not just order-takers
- Stay organized and accountable: dilligent use of technology and tools, follow-up and follow-through, and field activity that drives revenue and volume growth in our market
What we're looking for:
- 3+ years of beer sales experience — self-distributing brewery or wholesaler/distributor background strongly preferred
- Experience managing both on-premise and off-premise accounts
- Self-starter who takes ownership of their territory and doesn't need to be managed
- Strong communicator who builds real trust with buyers, not just transactional rapport
- Detail-oriented with genuine follow-through — accounts notice when you show up prepared
- Comfortable with the pace and independence of field sales work
- Passion for craft beer, community, and the kind of business DCBC is trying to build
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Why Dual Citizen?
Self-distribution means you're not working through layers of a distributor org. You report directly to brewery leadership, your feedback influences what gets brewed and how it's packaged, and when something needs to happen in-market you can make it happen fast.
When you're out selling for Dual Citizen, you're carrying a brand that buyers and consumers actually connect with. The Beer For Good 12-pack program gives off-premise buyers a reason to feature our product beyond the beer itself. The Dual Purpose program — monthly nonprofit partnerships, $10k community matches, taproom events — gives on-premise accounts a reason to pour us instead of somebody else. The mission is part of the pitch, and it's a good one.
We want people who:
- Bring energy to every stop, not just the ones that feel easy
- Follow through without being chased
- Care about the details — presentation, placement, pour quality
If that sounds like the job you've been looking for, we'd love to hear from you.
